What is the One AdSet One Ad method

The One AdSet One Ad (1:1) method is a Meta Ads campaign structure where each ad set contains only one creative. This approach ensures that every creative receives a dedicated budget and fair distribution, without being cannibalized by other ads in the same ad set. It is the preferred method for performance managers who test a high volume of creatives, because it provides a clear and fast read on what performs. Each creative is isolated, with its own metrics, free from algorithmic distribution bias.

The problem with creative testing on Meta

When you place 10 creatives in a single ad set, Meta’s algorithm quickly concentrates the budget on 2 or 3 of them. The other 7 receive almost no impressions. The result: you do not know if they could have performed with more budget. This distribution bias skews your creative tests. You eliminate potentially winning creatives simply because Meta did not give them a chance. The problem gets worse with volume: the more creatives per ad set, the more uneven the distribution, and the more biased your decisions become.
