What this comparison compares
Seventeen criteria, checked on 29 October 2026 on smartly.io, its Media, Creative and all features pages, and its public knowledge base, against Apogee’s own product pages.
We have not tested Smartly: everything about it comes from what it publishes, and “not published” does not mean “absent”. Much of its documentation is reserved for signed-in customers; we only used the public pages.
Two tools that do not serve the same team
Smartly describes itself as an AI advertising platform for brands, performance and creative teams, and agencies. It brings together three suites: Creative to produce visuals, with AI Studio and image and video templates; Media to build and run campaigns at scale, with data feeds, triggers and predictive budget allocation; Intelligence for cross-channel reporting. It publishes neither a price nor a trial: you start with a demo.
Apogee does one part of that job, the launch, on Meta Ads, TikTok Ads and Snapchat Ads. It starts from the creatives you already have: it reads the convention in your file names with naming detection, sorts the creatives into one of the four testing structures, then launches the batch. It shows its prices, can be tried online and bills per seat.
If you are looking for a suite that covers ten platforms, creative production and budget steering, Smartly is built for that. If your bottleneck is launching batches of creatives on Meta, TikTok and Snapchat, Apogee handles it from €69 per seat, per month.
Bulk launching: a data feed against your file names
Smartly builds and updates campaigns in bulk in two ways: a creation wizard, and its Automated Ads, where a sheet, a feed or a launch document connected to Smartly creates, updates and archives ads. Its knowledge base provides example feeds as Google Sheets. It works well when your campaigns follow a catalog, stores or markets.
Apogee starts from the video and image files themselves.
| Apogee | Smartly | |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | your creatives, up to 500 MB per file | a connected sheet, feed or catalog |
| Sources | computer, Google Drive, Dropbox, Frame.io | not published; templates imported from After Effects, Photoshop or Figma |
| Volume | batches of 50 to over 1,000 files, resumable uploads | hundreds of campaigns at once, according to its Media page |
| Naming | convention read from your file names | naming conventions listed, with no public detail |
| Structure | 4 testing structures, including insertion into an existing ad set | fixed structure recommended: ads are replaced inside the same ad sets |
| Formats of one creative | one ad per concept and iteration, with its 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1 formats | visuals customized by placement (PAC), driven by feeds |
The detail on Apogee’s side is on the Meta Ads bulk upload page. The two approaches do not exclude each other: Smartly shines when product data builds the ads, Apogee when a creative team delivers dozens of videos every week.
The arithmetic for your team
Smartly publishes no price: not on its website, not in its public knowledge base, where billing and contract questions go to the CSM. So amounts cannot be compared; what each price covers can.
Apogee shows its own before tax on its pricing page: €69 per seat, per month on Starter (Meta), €99 on Pro, with TikTok Ads, Snapchat Ads, the Bridge, the Apogee MCP and the REST API, and €499 on Scale. Meta ad accounts and bulk upload are unlimited, and the price does not move when your spend goes up. Three media buyers on Pro pay €198.99 a month, volume discount included.
If you also buy on Pinterest, Google Ads, Reddit or programmatic, ask Smartly for a quote: Apogee does not cover those channels. If you mostly launch on Meta, TikTok and Snapchat, run the numbers with Apogee first, which you can try without booking a call.
The Bridge against Smartly’s multi-channel setup
Smartly runs on more platforms than Apogee, and one feed can power campaigns on several channels. Its public pages do not, however, describe moving an ad that is already live from one platform to another.
Apogee’s Bridge starts from the live ad, in all six directions between Meta, TikTok and Snapchat. It keeps the video, rewrites the text, the CTA and the UTMs for the destination platform, and crops nothing: an ad without a 9:16 variant is refused. It comes with the Pro and Scale plans.
Your AI assistant connected to your ads
Smartly builds its own AI agents into its platform with Smartly Synapse, presented as an optimization layer: one agent assembles campaigns, others adjust budgets and creatives. Its public pages document neither an API nor an MCP server to connect Claude, ChatGPT or another assistant.
The Apogee MCP, 80 tools, works in Claude, ChatGPT, Perplexity, Mistral Vibe, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code with GitHub Copilot and Gemini CLI. The REST API, 48 operations, connects your scripts. Both come with Pro, with 10,000 credits a month (30,000 on Scale), and nothing is created without your yes on the recap.
What to check for yourself
Answer three questions:
- How many platforms will you buy on in twelve months?
- Is your bottleneck producing creatives, steering budget, or launching them?
- Do you want managed services, or a tool your team runs on its own?
If you answer “Meta, TikTok and Snapchat”, “launching” and “on its own”, launch a real batch with Apogee: the trial lasts 7 days for €1, with no ad limit, on all three platforms from Pro.
Run the test on your own creatives.
7 days on the plan of your choice, no ad limit, for €1. Or request a demo on your own setup.

Does Smartly have a free trial?
No, no trial is published on smartly.io as of 29 October 2026: the path goes through a discovery call, then a personalized demo. Apogee can be tried for 7 days for €1, on the plan you pick and with no ad limit, with a credit card; unless you cancel before day 7, the plan is then charged.
Does Smartly handle TikTok and Snapchat?
Yes. On Snapchat, Smartly's documentation advertises every format of the platform, image or video, Story, Collection and AR Lens, and five objective families, from awareness to sales. On TikTok, it advertises video, Spark Ads, image, carousel and catalog. Apogee covers both platforms with the Sales objective and 9:16 videos, through the same workflow as on Meta.
