What this comparison compares
Fifteen criteria, checked on 29 October 2026 in Meta’s help center, on its bulk import, bulk import of video ads, unsupported features, name templates and A/B testing pages, against Apogee’s own product pages.
Everything about Ads Manager comes from what Meta publishes, and “not published” does not mean “absent”. Meta also warns that some features roll out gradually: your account may not have all of them yet.
Apogee does not replace Ads Manager: it launches into your Meta ad accounts, and everything it creates shows up there. This comparison is about the launch step.
Two tools that do not do the same job
Ads Manager is Meta’s starting point to create, edit and track ads on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Audience Network. It covers Meta’s six objectives and its settings, with no subscription. To create in bulk, Meta offers spreadsheet import: an Excel file describes campaigns, ad sets and ads, built from its template or from an export of your ads.
Apogee starts from the files. You drop a batch of videos and images: it reads the convention in your file names with naming detection, builds one ad per concept and iteration with all its formats, sorts it into one of the four testing structures, then launches on Meta, and on TikTok and Snapchat too from Pro.
Ads Manager is Meta’s tool for doing everything, one ad at a time. Apogee is for one step, launching a batch of creatives, and does it in bulk.
Ads Manager’s bulk import, in detail
| Apogee | Ads Manager | |
|---|---|---|
| What you prepare | a batch of video and image files | an Excel sheet on Meta’s template, about 2 MB at most |
| Videos per send | batches of 50 to over 1,000 files | 10 videos per import |
| Size of one video | up to 500 MB | up to 10 MB in bulk import |
| Ad names | read from your file names | Ad Name column in the sheet, or a name template at creation |
| Check before sending | campaign, ad set, ad and format tree, required fields checked | summary after the import: warnings and blocking errors, detail in Excel |
The video limit is written plainly in Meta’s help center: “You can upload up to 10 videos that are up to 10MB each.” Above that, the import returns an error.
Meta also lists what the spreadsheet round trip loses: exporting then importing a campaign in an A/B test removes the test, offers on an ad set disappear, only the first ten languages or text options are kept, and a carousel with customized placements becomes a draft that cannot be published. When an import fails, Meta suggests saving the sheet as a Unicode .txt file, or creating the ad directly in Ads Manager.
The detail on Apogee’s side is on the Meta Ads bulk upload page.
Naming and Advantage+: set once for the whole batch
Ads Manager’s name templates combine fields taken from your settings (objective, format…), free text and drop-down lists. Meta allows only one per level and per ad account, and an edit only applies to what you create next. They name what you create; they do not read your files.
Apogee starts from the convention your files already carry. Detection recognizes four separators, types every position in the name, sets dates aside, and applies a saved convention on its own as soon as 80% of names follow it.
For Advantage+, Ads Manager lets you turn each enhancement on or off; in bulk, only on ads that all share the same format. Apogee exposes the eleven enhancements one by one, all off by default, and sets them for the whole batch before launch: these are the Advantage+ controls, on the Pro and Scale plans.
The arithmetic for your team
Ads Manager costs nothing beyond your ads. Apogee costs €69 per seat, per month on Starter, for Meta, and €99 on Pro, with TikTok Ads and Snapchat Ads, according to its pricing page. So the question is not the price of the tool, but the time spent preparing each batch.
If you launch a few ads a week, with videos under 10 MB, Ads Manager is enough. If your team gets dozens of videos a week, Apogee sets up a launch in 47 seconds, for 1 creative as for 300. Three media buyers on Starter pay €138.69 a month, volume discount included, whatever the number of Meta ad accounts.
What Ads Manager does not do: TikTok, Snapchat and the Bridge
Ads Manager only launches on Meta: for TikTok and Snapchat, you go through each platform’s own tool. Apogee launches on Meta Ads, TikTok Ads and Snapchat Ads through the same workflow, and the Bridge moves a live ad from one to another, in all six directions. It keeps the video, rewrites the text, the CTA and the UTMs for the destination platform, and crops nothing: an ad without a 9:16 variant is refused.
Meta also opened an MCP server and an Ads CLI in beta on 29 April 2026, to run its ads from an AI assistant, on Meta only. The detail is in our Meta Ads MCP vs Apogee MCP comparison.
What to check for yourself
For a strict A/B test, keep Meta’s tool: it splits the audience into groups that do not overlap, up to five variants. Apogee does not replace it on that point. Then answer three questions:
- How many creatives do you launch a week, and how heavy are your videos?
- Do your file names already follow a convention?
- Do you also launch on TikTok or Snapchat, or plan to?
If your batches go past ten videos or 10 MB per file, try Apogee on a real batch: 7 days for €1, with no ad limit, in your own Meta ad account.
Run the test on your own creatives.
7 days on the plan of your choice, no ad limit, for €1. Or request a demo on your own setup.

Frequently asked questions
Another question? Ask MathieuIs Meta Ads Manager free?
Yes: Meta does not charge for Ads Manager, only for delivering your ads, within the budget and bid strategy you set, according to its help center checked on 29 October 2026. Apogee costs €69 per seat, per month on Starter, for Meta, and €99 on Pro, with TikTok Ads and Snapchat Ads. It launches into your Meta ad accounts, which you still see in Ads Manager.
Can you bulk import ads into Ads Manager?
Yes. Ads Manager imports an Excel sheet describing campaigns, ad sets and ads, built from Meta's template or from an export of your ads; the file is limited to about 2 MB. Images, and up to 10 videos of 10 MB each, can be added to the same import. Meta warns that the spreadsheet round trip removes some features, such as A/B tests and offers.
How many videos can you import at once in Ads Manager?
Ten at most, 10 MB each, according to Meta's help page on bulk importing video ads, checked on 29 October 2026; above that, the import returns an error. Apogee takes batches of 50 to over 1,000 files, up to 500 MB each, with uploads that resume after a dropped connection.
Does Ads Manager handle a naming convention?
Yes, with name templates: one per level (campaign, ad set, ad) and per ad account, built from fields taken from your settings, free text and drop-down lists. They name what you create, without reading your file names. Apogee detects the convention already in your file names and takes each ad's concept, iteration and format from it.
Does Apogee replace Ads Manager?
No. Apogee replaces the launch step: it creates campaigns, ad sets and ads in your Meta ad accounts, and you find them in Ads Manager. For an A/B test with split audiences, a Conversion Lift study or an objective Apogee does not create, Ads Manager remains the tool to use.
Ads Manager or Apogee, which one to pick?
Ads Manager is enough for a few ads a week, for every Meta objective and for A/B tests with split audiences, with no subscription. Apogee is for launching batches of creatives: dozens or hundreds of videos, named to a convention and sorted into testing structures, on Meta but also on TikTok and Snapchat.
