"Out of budget"
In short
It is not an error: the ad group has spent its whole budget, so TikTok pauses its delivery, while the campaign stays active. To resume delivery, raise the ad group budget or extend its schedule, as TikTok’s help center says.

| Status (TikTok Ads Manager) | Not delivering | Non diffusé |
| Status explanation | Out of budget | Hors budget |
Where it shows up: in TikTok Ads Manager, in the Status column of the Ad groups tab, as the explanation under the “Not delivering” status.
What this status means
- The ad group has reached its budget. According to TikTok’s help on statuses, when an ad group runs out of budget with no other issue, its status becomes “Not delivering” with the explanation “Out of budget”. The campaign stays active.
- Delivery stops on its own. It pauses automatically once the ad group reaches its allocated budget (help on budgets). To resume it, raise the budget or extend the schedule.
- Budget can block at three levels. Out of account budget, out of campaign budget and out of ad group budget.
- Balance is a different cause. “Insufficient balance” means there is not enough money left on the ad account. In that case, the balance is what needs a top-up.
If the explanation shown is something else (a rejection, a suspended account, the balance), the “Not delivering” page lists the other causes.
How to resume delivery
- In TikTok Ads Manager, open the campaign, then the Ad groups tab. Hover over the status in the Status column to read the explanation.
- If the explanation is “Out of budget” or “Out of ad group budget”, edit the ad group. Raise its budget, or extend its schedule if it has a lifetime budget.
- With a lifetime budget, check the minimum. TikTok’s help center calculates it as total scheduled days, past days included (the days already elapsed since the start date), times the minimum daily budget ($20 for an ad group). For example, an ad group scheduled over 10 days needs a lifetime budget of at least $200. Extending the schedule therefore raises that minimum.
- If it is “Out of campaign budget”, raise the campaign budget. Keep it at least equal to its ad groups’ budget: a lower campaign budget can cause delivery issues.
- If it is “Out of account budget”, raise the budget limit set on the ad account. TikTok doesn’t say where; look in the ad account settings.
- If it is “Insufficient balance”, hover over Tools, click Billing under Settings, then Add Balance. Enter the amount, click Next, then Make Payment. For an ad account owned by a Business Center, the balance is managed from Business Center.

How to avoid it next time
- Set the campaign budget at least as high as its ad groups’ budget.
- With a lifetime budget, size it for the whole planned run: at least the $20 daily minimum per scheduled day.
- When an ad group performs well, raise its budget in steps: at most 40% per adjustment during the learning phase, at most 30% after, and at least two days between changes.
- Keep enough balance on the account: according to TikTok’s help center, no ads deliver once the balance runs out.

Frequently asked questions
What does “Out of account budget” mean?
It is the ad account-level version. According to TikTok’s help center, the budget set for the ad account has been reached. Ads stay stopped until that limit is raised.
I have cash balance on the account. Why won’t my ads run?
Balance and budget are two different things. The balance pays for the ads. The budget caps what each campaign or ad group can spend. With “Out of budget”, the budget is what has been reached: raise it or extend the schedule.
The campaign is active but the ad group shows “Not delivering”. Is that normal?
Yes. According to TikTok’s help center, when only the ad group budget has run out, the campaign keeps its active status. Always check the status at the ad group level.
How much should I raise the budget at once?
TikTok’s help center advises at most 40% per adjustment during the learning phase, and at most 30% after it. It also recommends waiting at least two days between changes.
