Sorry, this content isn't available right now

In short

A generic Facebook message that names no cause. When it blocks Ads Manager for many advertisers at once, it is a Meta outage that clears on its own; in Meta Business Suite (creating an ad account, connecting Instagram), advertisers have found no confirmed fix besides contacting Meta support.

Where it shows up: in Meta Business Suite and in Ads Manager, when you open a page, click to create an ad account or connect an Instagram account.

Why it happens

  • It is a generic Facebook message. It names no cause. On r/FacebookAds, advertisers report it in three ad-related situations: when opening Ads Manager during a Meta outage, when clicking to create an ad account or connect Instagram in Meta Business Suite, and when opening the business settings after switching the Instagram account used to create the business portfolio back to a personal account.
  • A Meta outage. On 7 June 2024, several advertisers locked out of Ads Manager got this message at the same time; Meta support told one of them the error was on the platform’s side, and it cleared on its own.

How to fix it

Meta has no help page for this message. What advertisers report depends on where it appears:

  1. If it appeared suddenly when opening Ads Manager and nothing changed on your side, wait and try again later: during the June 2024 outage, it cleared without any action.
  2. If it appears when you create an ad account or connect Instagram in Meta Business Suite, no fix has been confirmed; the only advice given in the threads is to contact Meta support.

What worked for other advertisers

During the 7 June 2024 outage, an advertiser on r/FacebookAds shared Meta support’s answer: “there is an ongoing error going on the platform”. Five replies confirm the same situation, and access came back without any action.

In the other situations, nothing has worked so far: an advertiser whose Instagram account was disconnected from the ad account after an update got this message when reconnecting it, and Meta support could not help (October 2025); others get it in Business Suite’s ad account creation menu (February 2025). Private browsing is suggested, without any reported success.

How to avoid it next time

  • Keep the Instagram account that created your business portfolio as a professional account: advertisers report this message in the business settings after switching it back to personal.

Frequently asked questions

Why can't I get into Ads Manager?

If the message appears suddenly and other advertisers get it at the same time, it is a Meta outage: in June 2024, Meta support told an advertiser the error was on the platform’s side, and access came back without any action.

I can't create an ad account in Meta Business Suite. Why?

Advertisers report this message when clicking to create an ad account in Business Suite. No fix has been confirmed in the threads; the only advice given is to contact Meta support.

What happens if I switch the Instagram account that created my business portfolio back to personal?

Meta doesn’t document it for this message. Advertisers report getting it when opening the business settings after that switch.

Does private browsing or another browser help?

It is suggested in the threads, but nobody says it made the message go away.
