Meta Code 100 Subcode 1487718 Ad account

Your campaign must have the same account id as the adgroup you're creating. (error code 100, subcode 1487718)

In short

The ad is created in one ad account but points to an ad set from another one. In this message, Meta uses its old API names: “campaign” means the ad set and “adgroup” means the ad. Pick an ad set from the right account.

Exact message

Field English
Title (Marketing API response) Campaign Has Invalid Ad Account
Message (Marketing API response) Your campaign must have the same account id as the adgroup you're creating.

Where it shows up: in the response of Meta’s Marketing API when an ad is created, for example by a tool that launches ads for you.

Why it happens

  • Old API vocabulary. In Meta’s Marketing API reference, the page for the “Ad Set” object lives at ad-campaign and the page for the “Ad” object at adgroup. So the message asks for the ad set and the ad to have the same ad account ID.
  • The ad set belongs to another ad account. The ad is created in one ad account but points to an ad set of a different account.
  • An API message. It is returned when a tool or API call creates an ad in an ad set that is not in the same account, for example after switching ad accounts. In Ads Manager, Meta notes that copy and paste does not work across different ad accounts.

How to fix it

  1. In Ads Manager, check which ad account is selected.
  2. Open the Ad sets tab and confirm the target ad set is listed in this ad account.
  3. If it is in another account, create or pick an ad set in the current account (for example, select an ad set of this account, click Duplicate and choose Original campaign), then add the ad there.
  4. If you use a tool or the API, select the ad set again after switching ad accounts.

How to avoid it next time

  • After switching ad accounts, reselect the campaign and ad set before launching.
  • When a tool saves your last selection, check it still matches the ad account you are launching in.

Frequently asked questions

Why does the message talk about a campaign when the problem is the ad set?

Because Meta’s API keeps its old names: its “Ad Set” reference page lives at ad-campaign, and its “Ad” page at adgroup.

Can I copy an ad into an ad set of another ad account?

Not with Ads Manager’s copy and paste: Meta says you can’t copy ads across different ad accounts. Recreate the ad in the target account.

Is this a permissions problem?

The message does not mention permissions: it asks for the ad set and the ad to have the same ad account ID.
