Your advertising access is restricted. You're no longer allowed to advertise across Facebook's apps and services.

In short

Your Facebook profile has lost the right to advertise across all of Meta’s apps: no ads, no advertising assets, no new ad accounts or business portfolios. Request a review in Business Support Home if the button is offered; without it, Meta’s decision is final, but other people in your business portfolio can keep running the ads.

Exact message

Field English
Message Your advertising access is restricted. You're no longer allowed to advertise across Facebook's apps and services.

Where it shows up: in Business Support Home (status of your profile), in Ads Manager, and when you try to create an ad account or a business portfolio.

Why it happens

  • Your profile, not just an ad account, is restricted. The message says you can no longer advertise “across Facebook’s apps and services”. A newer version adds that you can’t run ads, manage advertising assets, or create new ad accounts or business portfolios.
  • Meta links it to its advertising policies affecting business assets. In the explanation advertisers paste, Meta cites reasons such as trying to bypass the ad review process, participating in fraudulent behavior or associating with untrustworthy accounts.
  • It can come after a security warning. One advertiser got it after a “compromised user” warning on their profile.

How to fix it

  1. Open Meta’s Business Support Home on a computer and go to Account status overview in the left menu, as described in Meta’s help center.
  2. Select your restricted profile and read why it happened, then fix the cause if you can (rejected ads, linked assets).
  3. Under What you can do, choose Request review if it is offered, and follow the steps (confirm your identity, secure your account…). You must be an admin.
  4. Wait for the decision: Meta says a review usually takes 48 hours, the number of requests is limited and the decision after review is final. If access comes back, reactivate your ads: they don’t restart on their own.
  5. If there is no review button, the decision is final. Meta says other members of the business portfolio can keep advertising; if your restricted profile is the only user of an ad account, add another legitimate admin, or the ad account can be disabled.

What worked for other advertisers

No fix with clear confirmations; this is what advertisers report:

  1. In a 2021 r/PPC thread, the most detailed method: request the review from Account Quality, send your ID if asked and turn on two-factor authentication, and in the request acknowledge the content at issue and say what you changed. One advertiser says a request sent from Business Manager was accepted within minutes. Don’t multiply appeals: past the maximum, the decision is final.
  2. For a profile stuck behind two-factor authentication with Advanced Protection, support asked for a colleague to open a ticket to escalate (October 2025, no confirmation): “someone else needs to reach out to you”.

What didn’t work: creating a new business portfolio and ad account (both disabled for circumvention), and the support form, which sends you to a help article without opening a case.

How to avoid it next time

  • Give every ad account at least two legitimate admins, so a restriction on one profile doesn’t take the account down.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication and act quickly on any “compromised user” warning on your profile.
  • Use your review requests carefully: they are limited, and a refusal after review is final.

Frequently asked questions

“Account restricted”, “Your account is restricted”, “Your advertising access is restricted”: which one do I have?

Read the message. This one says you’re “no longer allowed to advertise”: it is the broadest restriction, on your profile, across all of Meta’s apps. If the message says “for security purposes” and asks for your identity, see “Account restricted”. If it blames your ads for not complying with the policies, see “Your account is restricted from advertising”.

There is no review button. Is the restriction permanent?

Meta says that without a review option, the decision is final. Other members of your business portfolio can keep advertising. An advertiser in the EU is looking into the out-of-court dispute bodies set up by the Digital Services Act; no outcome reported yet.

Can I create a new business portfolio or ad account?

No: a newer version of the message says the profile can’t create ad accounts or business portfolios. Advertisers who got around it saw the new portfolio and ad account disabled for circumvention.

I’ve been restricted for years. Can I still get it lifted?

Only through a review in Business Support Home, if Meta still offers one. In a thread from October 2026, an advertiser restricted since 2020 says support only sends links to help articles and the AI assistant refuses any new review.
