Where it shows up: in Ads Manager, on ad sets showing “Delivery error” or when you publish, sometimes during the guided setup of a new ad account, and in Marketing API responses.
Why it happens
- One action blocked for a while. The message says you’ve been “temporarily blocked” from performing this action: Meta blocks a specific action, such as publishing, turning on or editing an ad. It gives no policy reason, and Business Support Home often shows no restriction at all.
- Often a passing issue on Meta’s side. In the main r/FacebookAds thread, in July 2023, ad sets went into “Delivery error” with this message; a Meta support agent described the problem as sporadic, and the ads went live again once resubmitted.
- Sometimes after a suspension or on a new account. In June 2025, an advertiser got it on a Page that was restricted after a suspension. In October 2024, another got stuck on this message during the guided setup Meta forced on their new ad account.
- Two subcodes, one text. The Marketing API documentation gives exactly the same message for #2859015 and for #1404078.
Don’t confuse it with “Account Restriction. Please try again later”, which points to a problem on the whole account, or with “Your account is restricted from advertising”, which penalizes ads judged non-compliant.
How to fix it
- Open Business Support Home (or Account Quality) and check the ad account, the Page and your profile, as Meta’s help center advises. If a restriction shows up, follow the step under What you can do; otherwise, move on.
Then, based on the advertiser reports below:
- Wait before trying the action again, and don’t repeat it over and over.
- Turn the ad set showing “Delivery error” back on manually, or resubmit the ad. If it still doesn’t go through, rebuild it.
What worked for other advertisers
Few threads mention this message. The main one dates from July 2023, on r/FacebookAds:
- Wait, then turn the ad set back on or resubmit the ad: it goes through within minutes. 4 confirmations (July 2023): “waiting and re-submitting the ad works”.
What didn’t work: in October 2024, an advertiser blocked by this message during the guided setup of a new ad account had no appeal button, and reported no fix.
This fix dates from 2023: the Ads Manager interface may have changed since.
How to avoid it next time
- When an ad set goes into error with this message, wait before trying again, and don’t duplicate it over and over.
- Keep an eye on Business Support Home: if a real restriction shows up there, deal with it first.

Yes. Meta gives exactly the same text, “You have been temporarily blocked from performing this action.”, for subcodes #2859015 and #1404078. It is the same temporary block, with the same steps. Most advertisers see the message without any code.
“Your account is restricted right now”, “Account Restriction”, “Your account is restricted from advertising”: which one do I have?
Read the message. This one says you are temporarily blocked from an action: waiting is often enough. “Account Restriction. Please try again later” (#3910001) points to a problem on the whole account, with no reason, and sometimes lasts weeks. “Your account is restricted from advertising” blames your ads for breaking the policies and is solved through a review.
How long does the block last?
The message gives no duration. In the main thread, from 2023, advertisers advise waiting before resubmitting the ad: it went live a few minutes after being resubmitted.
I’m blocked during the guided setup of a new ad account. What can I do?
One advertiser hit this in October 2024: the message blocked the step that creates a campaign, with no appeal button, and they reported no fix. Wait before trying again, then contact support from Business Support Home if the block lasts.
